Sylvia Schwartz is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid and resident soprano at Deutsche Staatsoper in Berlin where she has sung Papagena.

She has also worked as a postgraduate student at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin under Wolfram Rieger, Thomas Quasthoff and Julia Varady, where she won a ‘Hezekiah Wardwell-Stipendium’ from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Recent performances include a Lied recital in Barcelona’s Schubertiade, Die Zauberfloete (Papagena) for Sir Colin Davis and the LSO in Madrid and also for Claudio Abbado at the Edinburgh Festival.

In September , Sylvia made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala performing Zerlina in Don Giovanni in a co-production with the Staatsoper conducted by Gustavo Dudamel.
